Dear Mr. Lebryk:

In the last meeting on 19 January, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed designs for the obverse and reverse faces of the Buffalo Gold Bullion coin. The strong recommendation was to keep the Indian portrait by James Earle Fraser on the obverse as clean as possible, omitting all inscriptions except "Liberty" and "2006," as in Design 24k-O-05. The other required inscriptions would then be placed on the reverse, as is shown in Design 24k-R-01.

Sincerely,

/s/Thomas Luebke, AIA
Secretary
