Dear Mr. Jackson:

During its meeting of 18 November 2004, the Commission reviewed and approved the proposed concept for the replacement building for the Benning Branch Library located at 3935 Benning Road near Minnesota Avenue. As the project develops, the design should continue to become simpler and more unified. The Commission encourages a stronger civic presence for the library, in addition to the connection with the existing shopping area.

The final design should be submitted for review when ready. The Commission looks forward to the future review of this and other projects for the District of Columbia Public Libraries. Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday the 25th of January 2005, with a submission deadline on the 6th of January. The staff is always available to assist you.
