Dear Dr Elias:

In the meeting of 18 May, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the concept design for the proposed reconfiguration of the Fern Valley at the National Arboretum. The Commission recommended that, due to the delicate nature of the Native Plant Collection, the landscape architect should seek the lightest possible treatment of pathways, signs, furniture, and structures.

The Commission looks forward to the review of final drawings and details. As always, the staff is available to assist you.
