Dear Mr. Gittens:

In its meeting of 18 January, the Commission reviewed and approved the revised design for "Transit," the proposed public art installation by Wendy Ross. The Commission members found the revised design, which now proposes to suspend the sculpture from the structure of the arcade above the Metro entrance, more appropriate than the previous floor-mounted configuration. The Commission members expressed appreciation for Ms. Ross's creativity in reconfiguring the sculpture in response to their previous comments.

The Commission approved the submission as a final design with the understanding that any subsequent design changes will be submitted to the Commission for further review. As always, the staff is available to assist you in future submissions.
