Dear Mr. Gittens:

In its meeting of 17 April, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the revised designs for two proposed public art projects for the CityVista development under construction at 5th and K Streets, N.W. The first project was the sculpture Lift Off by artist David Black to be placed in a new plaza at the corner of 5th and K Streets; the second project, Inspiration by artist Ethan Kerber, was the decorative grille covering an exhaust vent. The Commission members appreciated the artists incorporating the recommendations from the initial review and commented that the revisions have improved the quality of both pieces.

The Commission looks forward to reviewing future projects for your agency. As always, the Commission staff is available to assist you.
