Jane O’Brien Dart was active in public service, the arts, and philanthropic organizations, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Science and Industry, where she served as a trustee, the California State Arts Council, and the Monterey Museum of Art. As a young woman in the late 1930s and early 1940s, she was an actress with Warner Brothers; she performed under the stage name Jane Bryan and appeared in twenty films with such stars as Paul Muni, Ronald Reagan, Jane Wyman, Humphrey Bogart, and Bette Davis.
