Letter
Dear Mr. Hanlon:
In its meeting of 18 April, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed a revised concept for renovations and additions to the Horace Mann Elementary School at 4430 Newark Street, NW. The Commission expressed appreciation for the great improvement to the design and approved the concept, delegating review of the final submission to the staff. The Commission members noted that, in response to their previous recommendations, the design of the roof and landscape had been simplified, and the curving wall of the addition had been cut back to allow a less obstructed view of the entrance.
As always, the staff is available to assist you in preparation of the final submission.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
