Letter
Dear Mr. Peterson:
In its meeting of 18 July, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed alternative reverse designs for the 2014 Native American One Dollar Coin, featuring the theme of Native American hospitality for the Lewis and Clark expedition.
The Commission members recommended alternative #6 due to its strong narrative about sharing knowledge, a compelling contribution to the success of the expedition. They also recommended adding a straight horizon line in the background to improve the legibility of the composition.
As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
