Letter
Dear Mr. Mills:
In the meeting of 19 October, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the revised concept design for the proposed renovations and addition to the Alice Deal Middle School at 3815 Fort Drive, NW. The Commission members expressed concern that changes to the project might result from budget constraints, and they suggested that the blind windows on the proposed gymnasium wing could be simplified or eliminated if necessary to ensure sufficient funds for high-quality finish materials throughout the project.
Please consult with staff if there are any changes to the approved final design. Since material samples were not available for the Commission review, a material sample panel should be erected on the site for review before the final selection of materials. If you have any questions, the staff is available to assist you.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas Luebke, AIA
