Letter
Dear Mr. Jacobus:
In the meeting of 16 November, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the concept design for the three proposed structures at the Dalecarlia Reservoir and one structure at the Georgetown Reservoir. For the largest of these structures, the residuals collection and treatment facility at the Dalecarlia Reservoir, the Commission made several recommendations to reduce the building's apparent height: large berms and plantings should be designed to screen the water basins to the greatest extent possible, and the horizontal banding on the facade should be strengthened. The Commission members also commented that any of the alternative material palettes shown would be acceptable.
The Commission delegated the review of the final design to the staff. Please coordinate with us as the design is developed further.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas Luebke, AIA
