Letter

Dear Mr. Floyd:

In its meeting of 21 June, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed the concept design for the perimeter security elements associated with the National Law Enforcement Museum and the proposed new configuration of the curbs and sidewalks of E Street between 4th and 5th Streets, NW. The Commission approved the concept design for perimeter security, minimizing the height of the retaining or barrier walls and bollards between the entrance pavilions to the greatest extent possible, while providing required security to the adjacent court buildings. In addition, the Commission members approved the proposed realignment of the E Street curbs that narrow the roadway and incorporate two 40-foot-long lay-bys as shown in the submitted drawings.

The Commission looks forward to the submission of the final design and construction drawings for the museum and plaza that integrates concepts of all the elements that were separately approved in earlier reviews. Please coordinate with the staff for the next submission.

Sincerely,

/s/
