Letter
Dear Mr. Whitesell:
The staff of the Commission of Fine Arts has reviewed the final design for the proposed landscape enhancements at the historic Japanese lantern and the adjacent memorial stone on the northwestern edge of the Tidal Basin near Kutz Bridge and Independence Avenue. The staff has no objections to the final designs for the proposed project.
With the authority delegated by the Commission at its meeting of 19 January 2012, we approve the final submission for Tidal Basin enhancements at the Japanese lantern, as documented in the materials received and dated 4 October 2012. If there are any additional changes please contact the staff to determine if additional review will be required. As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
