No objection to the basic concept design for the proposed building renovation and freestanding addition to the former John F. Cook Elementary School for the Mundo Verde Public Charter School, as shown in materials received and dated 3 July 2013, provided that the proposed front entry vestibule on the historic building be deleted or made more transparent and lighter in character so that the original entryway can be seen, and that the treatment of the replacement windows replicate the original mullion patterns. Recommend consultation with the Commission staff and the DC Historic Preservation Office before the next submission.
