Recommendation

Staff regrets that two signs were installed without CFA review. No objection to the issuance of a permit for one sign to be mounted above an existing entrance for Grand Trunk Restaurant, provided that the sign is not internally illuminated. Recommend AGAINST the issuance of a permit for a sign to be mounted to the building facade between the second and third floor windows. Existing sign mounted to the building facade between the second and third floor windows to be removed. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval.
