Recommend AGAINST the issuance of a permit for the installation of an entrance canopy for Plan B Burger, as shown in materials received and dated 10 March 2015. The projecting restaurant canopy is not consistent with the treatment of the storefronts for the portions of Market Square facing the Navy Memorial and is not appropriate. Recommend that if commercial canopies are desired for this building, the building owner develop a unified proposal for the complex as a whole for review by CFA, NCPC, HPO, and NPS. Note also that planters, umbrellas, seating, and awning modifications shown in the submitted drawings are not included in the submitted scope of work; forward a separate submission for this work when ready.
