In its meeting of 17 November, the Commission of Fine Arts approved, based on its prior review of the submission materials, the final design for the National China Garden at the National Arboretum at 3501 New York Avenue, NE. The Commission members thanked the Arboretum for its collaboration with the National China Garden Foundation, the Agricultural Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the People’s Republic of China to create this commendable new addition to the arboretum.
The Commission appreciates the responsiveness to the comments made during its previous reviews and anticipates the successful completion of the project. If the design is changed before the project is completed, please consult with the staff to determine if additional review will be required.
