The Commission is supportive of the proposed scope of work, including the restoration of the rooflines, the restoration of the window openings, and the proposed treatment for the formerly open two-story rear porch. However, documentation was insufficient for issuance of permit and the Commission regrets that the applicant did not follow the direction of the Old Georgetown Board to convert the application into a concept submission to allow for its refinement and resubmission as a permit application. Recommend AGAINST issuance of permit for window replacement, alterations to the garage, and roof replacement, as proposed in drawings received 9 December 2016. Recommend applicant return with comprehensive plan to address the non-permitted work performed, including the removal of original windows on all elevations, installation of new non-historic windows on side elevations, raising of main roof, and removal of historic balustrade at ridge. File new design development submission with concept application at DCRA with working drawings including details and dimensions, for review by the Commission.
