Letter
Dear Mr. Motl:
In its meeting of 16 March, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the single obverse and reverse design alternatives presented for the 2017 American Eagle Palladium Bullion Coin. The Commission members commented on the beauty of the historic designs that form the basis of the proposal, both created by Adolph Weinman in the early 20th century: the 1916 Winged Liberty design of the Mercury Dime for the obverse, and the 1907 eagle design created for the American Institute of Architects Gold Medal for the reverse.
As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
