Letter
Dear Ms. Gillis:
In its meeting of 21 June, the Commission of Fine Arts approved, based on its prior review of the submission materials, the concept design for the renovation of and additions to Charles H. Houston Elementary School, located at 1100 50th Place, NE. The Commission delegated the review of the final design to the staff.
In their approval of the submission, the Commission members expressed support for the idea of reconfiguring the school yard, but they recommended further study of the proposed landscape design with the goals of simplifying and reducing the number of elements. Please coordinate the delegated review of the final design with the staff which, as always, is available to assist you.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
