No objection to the concept design for the renovation and exterior restoration of Building 48 at Fort McNair, as shown in materials received and dated 5 February 2020. The project includes the removal of: a World War II-era annex; an exterior fire escape stair; a small transformer shed; and an unused guard house (Building 80), built in 2011. Building 48 will be updated with a new universal access ramp at the west entrance, an improved east entryway, and a new green space along the west face of the building.
