Letter
Dear Mr. Falcicchio:
In its public meeting of 16 July conducted by videoconference, the Commission of Fine Arts approved, based on its prior review of the submission materials, the concept design for a new seven-level parking garage structure on Parcel 6, at the intersection of Cypress Street and the temporary 13th Street, SE, on the St. Elizabeths East Campus. In its action, the Commission recommended that more attention be given to the aesthetics of the structure’s facades, and that additional facade screening would improve its visual appearance until the proposed liner building is constructed, urging that this be undertaken as quickly as possible. In addition, the Commission requested that the applicant work with the staff as the design is developed.
The Commission looks forward to the next submission for this project; as always, the staff is available to assist you.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
