Dear Mr. Russo:
During its meeting of 17 July, the Commission reviewed and approved the final plans for the replacement Vehicle Maintenance and Ceremonial Cannon Storage Facility at Fort Myer in Arlington, Virginia. The Commission appreciates the designers' efforts to create a building that is contextual to the Fort's historic structures. It will be an improvement over the existing facility which is structurally in poor condition and should be demolished.
Also, included in our approval were the plans for a temporary facility to be erected in the parking lot north of Building #325 to house the vehicle maintenance operations during the construction of the new building.
