Dear Ms. Gibson:
In its public meeting of 21 November conducted by videoconference, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed a second submission of alternative designs for a Congressional Gold Medal honoring Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley. Consistent with the preferences of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee and the family representative, the Commission recommended obverse O-02 and reverse R-09. The Commission members recommended adjusting the reverse’s composition to avoid crowding the inscription “Let the World See.”
The Commission appreciates the consideration of its comments provided at the previous review. As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.
