Dear Ms. Gibson:
In its public meeting of 20 February conducted by videoconference, the Commission of Fine Arts approved, based on its prior review of the submission materials, the revised obverse designs for the 2027 and 2028 issues that will conclude the three-year “Charters of Freedom” series of platinum proof coins, part of the American Eagle program of investment-grade coins. These obverses will feature an evolving composition of the sun and landscape to represent the U.S. Constitution (2027) and the Bill of Rights (2028), in combination with the established reverse for the platinum coins.
The Commission appreciates the consideration of its comments provided in the previous reviews for this series. As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.
