Letter

Dear Ms. Hall:

In its public meeting of 16 May conducted by videoconference, the Commission of Fine Arts approved, based on its prior review of the submission materials, the final design for the rehabilitation of Parkland, a National Park Service property bounded by Malcolm X Avenue, Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, and Parkland Place, SE, in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Washington, D.C. In its approval action, the Commission expressed appreciation for the responsiveness to its previous advice and delegated the completion of the final review to the staff, with the condition that additional information be provided regarding the durability of the proposed modified wood walkways.

The Commission looks forward to the revitalization of this important neighborhood park. Please coordinate the completion of the delegated final review with the staff which, as always, is available to assist you.

Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
