Dear Mr. Thomas:

In its meeting of 16 May, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the public art proposal for a water sculpture by Barton Rubenstein for the new park bounded by Parkside, Grant, and Burnham Places, NE. In their review of the project, the Commission members noted the incompatibility of the illustrated symmetrical floral paving pattern of the plaza with the dynamic formal logic of the sculpture; they recommended that the sculptor collaborate with the landscape architect on a site design that is more fully integrated.

As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.

Sincerely,

/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
