Dear Ms. Franklin-Kelly:
During its meeting of 16 October, the Commission reviewed and approved the proposed concept for a new community center on the comer of!5th and Girard Streets, NW. As the design evolves, the entrance should be more clearly-defined and welcoming to the community. Some additional patterning of brick and other materials may also minimize the apparent mass of the building from the park. Finally, there should be some consideration for the location of signs on the building.
The Commission looks forward to the further review of this project. As always, the staff is available should you require guidance.
