Dear Mr. McGill:
During its meeting of 16 October, the Commission reviewed and approved the concept design for the proposed security perimeter upgrades at the Robert F. Kennedy Department of Justice Building located at 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. The entrances affected by this proposal are the vehicular entrances mid-block along 9th and 10th Streets.
The members found the proposed security gates within the existing portals sympathetic to the historic fabric as well as meeting the security needs required for the building today. The development of the final details offer an opportunity to improve on the aesthetics of the existing barriers by the guard booths in front of the portals.
