Letter
Dear Ms. O’Neill:
In its meeting of 16 October, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the concept design for Court 9 of the Columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery, the fifth and last construction phase of the complex. The Commission noted that the design, details, materials, and landscape plan for this new court conform to those of the columbarium structures completed in the previous phases. The Commission members commended the design team and Arlington National Cemetery for consistently following the original design intent and details throughout the phases which has, over time, created a dignified complex befitting the members of the military and their families.
The Commission delegated the final approval of the project to staff provided there are no significant changes to the design as the construction drawings are finalized. As always, the staff is available to assist you with the final submission.
Sincerely,
Thomas E. Luebke, AIA
