Dear Dr. Bunch:
The staff of the Commission of Fine Arts has reviewed the final construction documents for the revised design and inscriptions for the South Water Feature for the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, now under construction at Constitution Avenue and 14th Street, NW. The final design conforms with the previous recommendations of the Commission and the staff has no objections to the design for the water feature and the inscriptions as submitted.
With the authority delegated by the Commission at its meeting of 16 January 2014, we approve the final plans and the inscriptions for the South Water Feature, as documented in the drawings and materials received and dated 9 September 2014. If there are any additional changes please contact the staff to determine if additional review will be required. As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.
