World War II Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial
Omaha Beach
Colleville-sur-Mer, France
Letter
Dear General Nicholson:
During its meeting of 17 February 2005, the Commission reviewed and approved the revised concept design for a new visitors center at the World War 11 Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial at Omaha Beach, Colleville-sur-Mer, France. The new lower configuration of the skylight above the Sacrifice Gallery greatly improves the design, placing greater emphasis on the landscape of sacrifice represented by the cemetery.
The Commission looks forward to further review of this and other projects for the American Battle Monuments Commission. When the construction plans for the facility's design are ready, please submit them for our final review. As always, the staff is available should you require guidance.
Sincerely,
/s/Frederick J. Lindstrom
