Letter
Dear Mr. Floyd:
In its meeting of 17 January, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the final design for the National Law Enforcement Museum to be located at Judiciary Square. This action renews the Commission's expired final design approval from May 2008 and encompasses the minor exterior changes that have been subsequently introduced to the design. In its approval of the proposal, the Commission expressed regret that the detailing of the pavilions, neither distinctly traditional nor modern, had been developed further in the intervening years.
The Commission looks forward to the completion of the museum adjacent to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, which has proven to be a highly successful civic space in the national capital. Any exterior design revisions before or during construction may require additional review and should be discussed with the staff which, as always, is available to assist you.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
