Dear Ms. Wright:
In its meeting of 17 May, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the final design submission for Phase 1 site lighting on the St. Elizabeths West Campus at 2700 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE. The Commission endorsed the use of a simple, modern style of light fixture using an LED lamp with a reflector to minimize uplighting, and the proposal to restore or replicate the historic lanterns at Gates 1 and 2.
