Letter
Dear Mr. Peterson:
In its meeting of 17 May, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed design alternatives for a commemorative coin honoring the centennial of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America. The Commission recommended obverse alternative #9, supporting the suggestion of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee to use the words "Courage Confidence Character" in place of "100 Years of Girl Scouting" and to include the number "100" in the small trefoil emblem as depicted in several other alternatives. For the reverse, the Commission recommended alternative #6 with the suggestion to use the phrase "Girls Scouts" in place of "100 Years."
As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
