Letter
Dear Mr. Lew:
In its meeting of 18 February, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved the revised concept design for the Woodrow Wilson High School at 3950 Chesapeake Street, NW, expressing appreciation for the revisions in response to the previous review.
The Commission members commented on the proposal's well-resolved planning and endorsed the revisions to retain historic fabric, to redesign the main entrance area, and to reconfigure program elements within the historic building. They commended the integration of open space with program areas and encouraged the design team to retain this modulation of scale and distribution of use and interest across the complex.
The Commission looks forward to reviewing the final design. As always, the staff is available to assist you with the next submission.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, AIA
