Letter
Dear Mr. Peterson:
In its meeting of 20 February, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed design modifications to the John F. Kennedy half–dollar coin for a commemorative gold version to be struck in 2014, the fiftieth anniversary of the coin's introduction. The Commission approved the proposed modifications, including the placement of text indicating the gold content and mint mark on the reverse (as described but not illustrated), and the intention to restore the original quality of the 1964 portrait of President Kennedy.
As always, the staff is available to assist you with future submissions.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
