Letter
Dear Mr. Brady:
At its meeting of 21 June, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed the revised concept design for the proposed addition to the School Without Walls (formerly known as the Grant School) at 2130 G Street, NW. While the Commission members were generally supportive of the revisions, they requested greater refinement in the curtainwall system, which may be achieved by decreasing the width of the framing elements or using color to differentiate the pieces of the system. In addition, the prominent red fin on the entrance facade should be constructed from a higher-quality material due to its prominence.
With these comments, the Commission approved the revised concept and delegated final review to the staff. Please submit the project for final review when ready. If you have any questions, the staff is available to assist you.
Sincerely,
/s/
