Letter
Dear Mr. Tangherlini:
During its meeting of 21 September 2004, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and unanimously approved the preliminary concept for the new Anacostia Riverwalk Trail. The members thought the new trail will be a “wonderful addition to a forgotten river” and that everyone is enormously enthusiastic to see this new amenity come about. It is understood that the development of the trail will be done in phases and that there are many details still to be worked out, including, to list a few, the design of the trail’s signs, lighting, riverside waysides, pedestrian bridges, and the selection of paving materials.
The members look forward to the continuation of our of review of this most exciting project. Our next meetings dates are 21 October and 18 November, with submission deadlines two weeks prior. As always, the staff is available to assist you and the design team prior to the next submission.
Sincerely,
/s/Frederick J. Lindstrom
