Dear Mr. Russo:
During its meeting of 25 January 2005, the Commission reviewed the revised concept for Lincoln Hall, a new building for the National Defense University at Fort McNair. For the building’s west facade, the members preferred the revised elevation that was based on the original concept design presented in November 2004, as the alternatives for this elevation were not as good as the original scheme. They also had no objections to the connector and screen wall between the new building and Marshal Hall nor to the increase in the height of the circular main entrance arcade. They felt these were improvements and approved the concept submission.
The Commission looks forward to further review of this and other projects for Fort McNair. Our next meetings are scheduled for 17 March and 21 April 2005, with a submission deadline two weeks before each meeting. As always, the staff is available should you require guidance.
