No objection to concept design for proposed alterations, including in-fill at courtyard, window and door openings, removal of garden wall perpendicular to rear facade, roof-top mechanical equipment, and new basement entrance areaway, as shown in supplemental drawings dated 17 September 2008, PROVIDED roof top equipment is not visible, and a 6/9 operable window at rear matches existing windows with jack arches at rear of main house. Replacement of brick garden wall was not approved and was deleted from this concept application. Recommend consultation with arborist to protect historic elm tree at corner of property from impact of proposed work. File new submission of working drawings, including details, dimensions, cut-sheets for windows and doors, and landscape plan, with permit application for review by the Commission when ready.
