No objection to issuance of permit for proposed two-story rear addition with basement as shown in supplemental drawings dated 23 June 2011 which indicate operable wood shutters, wood insulated windows with simulated-divided-lites and 7/8 inch muntin, and aluminum-clad rear doors, PROVIDED the standing seam metal roof is hand-pressed, and the shutters for the first floor paired windows are sized to cover the window when closed and half-screens are used. The Commission encourages the applicant to include the replacement of the existing aluminum siding and metal shutters on all facades with wood siding and operable wood shutters on the scope of work on this permit application. Note that the L'Enfant Trust holds an easement on this property. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the exterior design made during DCRA technical review must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.
