Recommendation

The Commission regrets that canopy and signs were installed prior to review or permit. Recommend against issuance of permit for existing canopy and vestibule which are not compatible with the character of the historic district. No objection to issuance of permit for sign composed of pin-mounted letters reading 'Morton's The Steakhouse' and for painting the existing light fixtures as shown in supplemental drawings dated 16 April 2013. Existing canopy and vestibule, which were not approved, must be removed no later than 31 May 2013. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the exterior design made during DCRA technical review must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.
