Recommendation

No objection to issuance of permit for proposed 2-story rear addition with basement and alterations as shown in supplemental drawings dated 10 September 2014 which indicate replacement standing seam copper roof to match detailing of existing metal roof, no vents and exhausts on front roof (all to be located on back roof), repair of historic wood windows on front façade and on dormers, only one light fixture between entry doors, metal picket railing at rear, and replacement of brick garden wall with a vertical board wood fence and gate.  Awning and new blade sign were not approved and were deleted from this permit application.  Recommend wood fences and gates are painted or stained with an opaque stain, and that supports are not visible from public thoroughfare.  Note:  Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DCRA technical review, must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to issuance of permit.
