No objection to concept design for proposed addition of stair tower, replacement windows, terraces, new openings and alterations as shown in supplemental drawings dated 20 August 2014 which indicate retention and repair of original casement windows, single-glazed 6/6 wood windows on front facade, insulated 6/6 wood windows with simulated divided light 5/8 inch wide wood muntins at rear, and use of 4/4 configuration on smaller side windows. Transoms at ground level were deleted. Recommend further development of the details for the entry door and fan light; use of concrete pavers on walkway; solid single cast-stone steps to match color and texture of existing cast stone at main entrance; retention of decorative panels as-is; larger planting beds in terraces; and a board on board wood fence no taller than 7 feet high around terraces. File new submission at DCRA of working drawings, including detailed and dimensioned drawings, architectural details, and landscape plan, with permit application for review by the Commission.
