Letter
Dear Mr. Finan:
In its meeting of 21 February, the Commission of Fine Arts reviewed and approved a revised concept submission for a new twelve–story office building at 400 6th Street, SW (case number SL 13-045).
The Commission members expressed appreciation for the modifications to the design of the exterior envelope, which they found to be improved in its composition and clarity of concept. In the interest of consistency, they suggested that a vertical element be added at the inside corner of the setback on the D Street facade in order to terminate the light–colored frame, analogous to the condition on the west facade of the building.
The Commission looks forward to review of the next submission. As always, the staff is available to assist you.
Sincerely,
/s/Thomas E. Luebke, FAIA
