No objection to the issuance of a permit for the installation of three signs at a new hotel, including a new halo-illuminated wall sign at the southeast corner of the site for Arlo Bodega, one halo-illuminated canopy sign at the main entrance facing G Street, NW, and a non-illuminated wall sign at the southwest corner of the site for Arrels, as shown in materials received and dated 3 May 2024, PROVIDED that the signs on east and west sides of the canopy be deleted, and pending the receipt of supplemental materials. Recommend AGAINST the issuance of a permit for the installation of a new wall sign for Arlo DC Hotel at the parapet of the building, as shown in materials received and dated 3 May 2024, due to the sign's inappropriate location at the top of the building. Forward a new submission when ready. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design, including those made during DOB technical review, must be resubmitted to the Commission for approval.
