Consent Calendar: CFA Meeting — 16 July 2015

No objection to the installation of a temporary anti-climb feature to the top of the existing perimeter fence at the east and west sides of the White House complex, as shown in materials received and dated 2 July 2015. Design conforms to the the previously approved installation for the north and south sides of the White House complex (see case number CFA 16/APR/15-a). Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the revised plan to reconfigure and rehabilitate the landscape of the existing pedestrian triangle on the south side of the western intersection of Constitution and Pennsylvania Avenues, as shown in materials received and dated 29 June 2015. The final design has been coordinated with other agencies having review jurisdiction over the Pennsylvania Avenue Redevelopment Plan. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the concept design for the reconstruction of the historic Ord and Weitzel Gate at the north entrance to Arlington National Cemetery located at the intersection of the Custis Walk and North Marshall Drive, as shown in materials received and dated 2 July 2015. Recommend further development of the landscape plan.

No objection to the final plans for the reconstruction and repair of the western portion of the historic boundary wall between Arlington National Cemetery and Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, from the Old Post Chapel Gate to the Southwest corner of the cemetery, as shown in materials received and dated 2 July 2015.

No objection to the proposed alterations to repair, stabilize and electrify the 1930’s building as shown in drawings received 19 June and 23 June 2015, PROVIDED that new electric meter is located inside the building. Scope of work includes replacement doors and roof repair. Note: Any subsequent modifications to the approved design must be re-submitted to the Commission for approval prior to construction. No objection to the proposed public art project for the decorative street painting of the Chinatown Barnes Dance crosswalk at the intersection of 7th and H Streets, NW, as shown in materials received and dated 7 July 2015. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the final design for alterations to the exterior of the DC Department of Motor Vehicles Inspection Station, which includes paint, supergraphics, and the re-skin of the canopy, as shown in materials received and dated 2 July 2015.

No objection to the revised concept design for the renovation and additions to the Payne Elementary School, as shown in materials received and dated 2 July 2015. Recommend against painting the existing school smoke stack. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the concept design development for an addition as shown in drawings received 18 June 2015 and 2 July 2015, PROVIDED further development of the landscape plan to maximize planting, provide green buffer at the base of the building, and mitigate extensive hardscape for play area. File new submission of working drawings, including details, dimensions and landscape plan with permit application for review by the Commission. Refer to DC Historic Preservation Office.

No objection to the installation of porous flexible paving (Flexipave) to cover the tree boxes along M Street and Wisconsin Avenue, NW in the Old Georgetown Historic District, in the "coffee" color, composition, and texture as shown in the mock-up installation at Thomas Jefferson Street, NW near the intersection with M Street.
