No objection to the repaving of Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House, which includes the portion of the avenue, between the granite forecourts, and Madison and Jackson Places, with an interim paving material, as shown in materials received and dated 2 April 2009. It is noted that existing special pavement, installed in 2004, is failing and the rate of deterioration is increasing. The replacement paving material, consisting of beige/brown exposed aggregate of washed river rock with brown fines and a gray matrix to simulate the existing 'special rustic pavement,' would serve for approximately three years or until a more permanent material solution is reviewed and approved by the Commission.
