Consent Calendar: CFA Meeting — 19 March 2009

No objection to the installation of self-rising flood control gates in the areaways and behind the existing decorative metal gates at the east and west vehicular entrances as shown in materials received and dated 4 March 2009. Refer to the Historic Preservation Review Board.

No objection to the third phase of building modernization, renovation, and security modifications as shown in materials received and dated 5 March 2009. This project conforms to previously approved details in prior phases (see case number: CFA 15/SEP/05-8). Refer to the Historic Preservation Review Board.

No objection to the proposed concept design for a new security gatehouse and a one-story addition on the rear terrace as shown in materials received and dated 3 March 2009.

No objection to the proposed improvements to the Ambassador's Terrace on the fifth floor of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, including new pavers, landscape plantings and lighting, fountains, and ornamental screens, as shown in materials received and dated 5 March 2009.

No objection to the proposal to renovate and modernize the historic Old Naval Hospital and its stable building and for site improvements as shown in materials received and dated 5 March 2009. Refer to the Historic Preservation Review Board.

No objection to the renovation of and improvements to the community park located at 14th and Girard Streets, NW, as shown in materials received and dated 3 March 2009.

No objection to the renovation of and improvements to the two community parks located at S and T Streets along 17th Street at New Hampshire Avenue, NW, as shown in materials received and dated 5 March 2009.

No objection to the proposed security upgrades to four Access Control Points (ACPs) at Fort Myer and at the Fort McNair Ceremonial Gate, as shown in materials received and dated 5 March 2009. The proposed upgrades include the installation of new canopies, traffic islands, guard booths, security systems, and utility buildings. The four ACPs at Fort Myer include Wright Gate, Henry Gate, and Henderson Hall Gates 1 and 3. Recommend, at the Fort McNair Ceremonial Gate only, that all trim on the proposed new canopy be painted a dark color compatible with the color of the historic metal gates and fence. Refer the Fort McNair proposal to the District of Columbia Historic Preservation Review Board and the Fort Myer proposals to the Virginia State Historic Preservation Office.
