Consent Calendar: CFA Meeting — 22 January 2009

No objection to the revised design of the retaining wall along the north side of the athletic field, to the elimination of the service drive off Fessenden Street, and to the installation of artificial turf on the playing surface of the athletic field to improve the long-term maintenance, as shown in materials received and dated 8 January 2009.

No objection to: the installation of a new ADA compliant inclined stair lift at area way entrance to the sub-terrace level; the repair of the terrace waterproofing, the replacement of the five small windows on the south elevation to match other existing windows, and other exterior building repairs including, not limited to, chalking, painting and repointing, as shown in materials received and dated 8 January 2009. Refer to the Historic Preservation Review Board.

No objections to the replacement of windows and curtain wall assemblies with new materials, configured to replicate the existing exterior configurations, to provide blast protection, as shown in materials received and dated 8 January 2009. In addition, the exterior windows and doors of the D Street lobby facade will be replaced with an interim configuration to provide blast protection until the proposed external security pavilion is constructed, as shown in materials received and dated 8 January 2009. No objection to the temporary installation of a toilet trailer adjacent to the northwest corner of the baseball athletic field on 9th Street, as shown in materials received and dated 8 January 2009. (See case number SL 09-016).

No objection to the installation of new retractable bollards to replace the existing, poorly functioning retractable bollards at the garage and loading dock entrances, and new covers on the existing stationary bollards at the main entrance, as shown in materials received and dated 13 January 2009. Refer to the Historic Preservation Review Board.

No objection to proposed 8-ft high black vinyl coated chain link fence to enclose two outdoor storage areas at the Washington Canoe Club as shown in supplemental drawings dated 12 November 2008, which indicate section of fence in front of the building deleted for unobstructed view of facade from the river. Wood slats are not approved; fence to be screened by landscaping. File new submission for a more permanent solution for review by the Commission when ready.
